Overview
A Known Service is a managed collection of IP addresses originating from verified third-party providers. These lists are continuously updated in the background to ensure synchronization with any network changes made by the respective providers. Examples of providers for which IP lists are stored are AWS, GitHub, Google, OpenAI, and Pingdom.
Known Services are categorized using descriptive tags to define the function and behaviour of the underlying traffic. The table below outlines examples of specific Known Services and their respective tags:

Use Case
A Known Service can be integrated into a proxy's IP Access Control configuration to systematically block or allow incoming traffic matching that service. This functionality eliminates the administrative overhead of manually tracking and maintaining complex, volatile IP ranges for third-party infrastructure. By referencing a Known Service, the underlying IP management is handled automatically by the Threat Protection platform.
